Double Layer Space-saving Eddy Current Separator Application

The double-layer eddy current separator boasts a broad application spectrum, spanning metal separation, non-metallic purification, composite material processing, mineral sorting, coal beneficiation, and environmental protection.
Metal Separation:The eddy current separator efficiently segregates non-ferrous metals such as copper (Cu) and aluminum (Al). It is widely applied in scrap metal recycling, metal ore sorting, steel mill waste slag treatment, and other industrial metal recovery scenarios.
Non-metallic Sorting: While the core function is metal removal, the eddy current sorter improves the purity of non-metallic streams (plastic, glass, ceramic, rubber, wood, etc.) by eliminating metal contaminants. It is commonly used in municipal solid waste sorting, waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) recycling, and renewable resource recovery operations.
Composite Material Sorting:The system effectively removes metal impurities and embedded components from composite materials like carbon fiber and glass fiber. This enables cleaner sorting and recycling of composite waste, significantly boosting resource utilization efficiency.
Environmental Protection Field: Eddy current separators play a critical role in environmental protection workflows, including municipal waste disposal, e-waste recycling, and non-ferrous metal processing. Their core function is the efficient recovery of copper, aluminum, and other non-ferrous metals from domestic waste, industrial solid waste, and electronic scrap, supporting sustainable resource management and circular economy goals.

Double Layer Eddy Current Separator Working Principle

Eddy Current Separator Working Principle:The material is fed via a conveyor belt to the vibrating feeder, which removes moisture through high-frequency vibration and evenly feeds the material into the eddy current separator.
As the separator operates, the rapidly rotating magnetic drum generates a high-frequency alternating strong magnetic field on the sorting drum surface. When non-ferrous metals pass through this field, eddy currents are induced within them, creating a magnetic field opposite to the original. The resulting repulsive force propels non-ferrous metals (such as copper and aluminum) forward, separating them from non-metallic materials.

Eddy Current Sorter with Double Layer 3D Working Principle Video
Our double-layer eddy current separator adopts a structural design where both the upper and lower layers are equipped with eccentric rotors. With this dual-eccentric-rotor design, the upper layer can sort large-size aluminum, while small-size aluminum falls to the lower layer for further sorting. This ensures no hiding or missing of materials during the separation process, achieving a higher-purity sorting effect.
